Recently, it has become big topic to introduce daylight saving time. In the United States, from the second Sunday of March to the first Sunday of November, and in Europe, it is from the last Sunday of March to the last Sunday of October is the daylight saving time. Japan, Korea, and Iceland are the only three countries that are not using this system in OECD member countries. In this session of the Diet, these proposals were rejected, but in the near future, it may be possible to get executed.

There are the arguments for and against, but the people who are against of it, they say that there is no meaning because they have to start their work one hour earlier, but they can not get home when it is still bright. Normally, daytime saving time is aimed to leave their company in the early-evening, and workers can spend their time freely for fun for their hobbies or their exercises. However, they are against for this because, if they just have to work longer term, then there are no merits for them at all.

In Japan, problem is that the idea that “it is good to finish work, and go back home at the fixed time” is not radiated to the company executive.

There is no problem if those companies are paying whole the overtime charges, but only 40% have paid properly, and the other 60% have worked overtime without payment. The biggest part of this problem is that the ministries and agencies are obedient to authority and inspections the opposition’s opinion is that there is no meaning to introduce because it is obvious that daylight saving time will just increase unpaid overtime work.

I highly agree for this plan when I see from the point of energy-saving effect. Evening, leaving the company before it gets dark early is willing to feel very happy. It will make people happy to go back from their work in the early evening when it is still bright. There must be many this kind of requests from women than men, that they want to go somewhere for shopping, want to see a movie and want to see friends and like that. I think it will make good economic effect, because in our society, more men are forced to work overtime unpaid, but more women will increase expense after daylight saving time.

Above all, it will make you plus that when you wake up early in the morning, you can have more melatonin. From children to elderly people, if all of them will wake up one our earlier, and sleep one hour earlier, there must be at least more than 10% less depression and the depression people. It is good to have an early night. All the people must realize that it is essential condition for being healthy.

Daytime saving time was once executed in Japan, but in the four years, there were much public opposition, and it did not work out well, and faded out. However, it is very happy thing to have the evening’s Twilight Zone time, and you can reduce consumption of electricity if you will have one hour early life. I personally want to have daylight saving time for whole year. In the human society which is matured, people play sport on the cheap, have a party on the cheap, and enjoy together. This will be an important and increasing ability.

In Japan, it is still normal to spend three to four million yen’s for wedding party in a wedding hall. But I think it is more rational without spending this big money, we can have the wedding party on the cheap if we do it for no-host party or catering in the fun twilight time, so that we do not need to spend our time in the weekend.

As humans will be evolved gradually, people could reasonably enjoy energy saving, and daylight saving time. Anyway, I think it is essential to have a legal framework before starting daytime saving time, for example, corporate managers have to be punished by low, and employees must to be paid full payment and 10% more of it.
